Final match..
February 28, 2014
It is not often I completely loose my confidence, but that is what I did in my last match. She was really nervous and let me to the table twice in the first frame and I had a bad kick and then missed the nineball. I was standing awkward and in stead of getting back up I twitched and missed… she then breaks and lets me back in. I clear the table but miss the nine.. next rack she breaks, scratch, I play a good seven, but the eight is a little straight. I force the angle and miss.. after that she break and runs three racks and lets me in on a safety. I hit it good but a little hard so it comes back. And she clears the table. Thats it.
Now I am going to cheer for the western girls:)
Amway eSpring Cup Day 1
February 27, 2014
Oooohhh what a frustrating game this can be. Winners break, sitting i your chair, watching someone else play when you really just want to hit some balls…. I have played three matches and lost three. I have played two world champions and one chinese qualifier today and they kept me sitting. I did not do many mistakes really, I just did not get to play much. That’s life, I will fight with every bone in my body to win my match tomorrow against Lin Hsiao-Chi (TPE). Never give up and learn from your mistakes:)

Amway eSpring Cup Pressconference
February 26, 2014
I have already said this, but I say it again. Amway Cup is a big deal over here! We have never had so many tv cameras present, I counted around 20. Apparently the two guys announcing us at the press conference are very famous here in Taiwan….
After the press conference we went to Mr Tu’s poolhall to get some shots in. We do not have any practice time in the venue before tomorrow. I start my first of three matches tomorrow at 1210 local time. playing against Rubilen.
We play winners break race to 7, Wish me luck!

The draw is in. I have Pan Xiao-Ting (CHN), Rubilen Amit (PHI), Hsiao-Chi Lin and Q3. So far two world champions in my group:) There are som big names in the qualifers also, Fu Xiaofang, Shin Mei Liu…. I cross my fingers I do not get three world champions in my group. Two is enough already:)

Google translater is a good tool for reading chinese:)
I arrived in Taipei after 20 hours of travelling. The trip went good, even my Temporary permission to enter China was easy. I had to stand in the immigration line three times in a day, but ok:)
Today we have been practicing in Mr Tu’s poolhall, had a look at the venue and we have been in the Rahoe Night market. WE are Lyndalll Hulley, Margareth Morphett and myself, tomorrow WE will be extended to also include Alison Chang and Caroline Roos.
There will be a photo shoot again this year so tomorrow we are off to the TV studio. Amway is a BIG thing over here. The tournament will be live on Videoland sports channel and today they have sent replay form last year and also a few minutes from the qualifier. I do not know of any other tournament with that kind of attention.
Updates will follow!
Thanks for reading

How they make the food. A bit different form Norway. Everything is outside and in plain sight:) ( Photo by Lyndall Hulley)

I can see the Taipei 101 from my hotel room, ok view in a place where all buildings are so big all you see is a wall:)
Even and Odd numbers… It took me a few seconds before I understood it said. I was looking for the sign directing you according to the actual numbers of the rooms…
Amway eSpring Cup next:)
February 5, 2014
In Three weeks time I am off to Taiwan again. The Amway Cup is around the corner and I am really looking forward to it. I got my Cyclop balls and practice hard to not get confused by the colors:) My brain keep wanting to hit the seven after the five for some reason. The colours get mixed up. I am going to get over that before I leave!
Anyway, it will be so good see my friends again and will try to play my best pool. I am the only Norwegian going to this world ranking event and we are 40 players in total that are qualified. We will play round robin, winner break 9-ball to qualify for the single elimination which contains 24. When I have more info about the draw and times I will let you know:) For the moment my best tip is to check Alison Chang🙂
The only sad thing about this competition is that it collides with a Norwegian ranking tournament so I will miss out on ranking points. Nothing to do about that, we have so many tournaments and when I play with the men I can not really expect anything else. I will miss a few more during the year, that’s life.
