2015 season has started!

January 11, 2015

hammerkodenThe new season has started and just in time I received my new book from Øyvind Hammer, Ole Einar Bjørndalens mental coach. I have the old book and I think his philosophy is perfect for me. I am now running around giving out rubber-bands to everybody:) I am fortunate enough to have had a private session with Øyvind over the phone many years ago, and I still use his input before tournaments. I have Coaching and also self motivation and psychology in my Bachelor degree, but it is so difficult to apply this on yourself. I use it with others, but having someone like Øyvind to point out the obvious is really good:)

My season was supposed to start this weekend with a regional ranking tournament, but we had to postpone it because of really bad weather. That means my season does not start before 23-25 january when the Norwegian Championships in 8-ball will be held in Oslo in both Open and Womens division. I will play in both. I will post links to livestream and draw when I have it.

I have started a post about my goals for 2015 and my preparation before tournaments. I will post that when it is finished:) In the mean time, I hope you all find your own goals for this year. This is equally important for all aspects of life and I wish for you all to achieve your goals. I will do my absolute best to achieve mine this year and I start with a goal to win the Womens division in the Norwegian 8-ball Championships, and finish in top 16 in the Open division.

So watch out, Onward and Upward will be my motto for 2015!

Happy Holidays!

December 16, 2014

I finished off the year with a 5th place in Treviso and I am happy about that. I missed a nineball to go hill-hill against Oliwia Czuprynska in the quarterfinals, but I am very happy overall. I have not been well, I have been coughing so bad I could not stand still while shooting so winning four in a row was quite an achievement for me. I did my best and it paid of.

So, now the climb back up the ranking have started, I am back in top 16 on 14th place. I can’t wait for the next tournament!

I end this year on a happy note. My son is 20 today, my family is coming together tomorrow for a pre Christmas celebration and it is time for a two week break!

So, I wish you all Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year!

See you in 2015, thanks for following me in 2014.

Onward and upward!

December 9, 2014

I must say the last couple of months have been mixed from getting a fifth place in the elite division and playing the world championships in China to loose my spot in the elite after last weekends qualification. That’s life. From here on it is onward and upward!

nbFirst, I apologize for not posting in a few weeks. It is not that nothing has happened, I have actually played two tournaments, but I have had so many things going on in my life that I just had to let something go. I decided to stay of my blog for a few weeks.

BUT now I am back! This weekend I am playing qualification to stay in the elite division so it is a pretty important tournament. I am fifth seeded so I have a bye in round one. My first match is saturday 11:30 and you can find the draw and results during saturday in Google Docs HERE or in Hermunds cool system HERE. Both will be updated during the weekend. Also Oslo Biljardsenter have livestream, you can find that HERE.

My fellow clubmates Olav Skrudland and Jason Hansen will also play. Fingers crossed for all three of us!

Update: I won my first match, lost my next and the lost for Henrik Hagen to qualify. Sadly that means I am not in the elite division next year:( Ohwell, I still have a lot of tournaments to play, and I guess the disappointment will be better in a few days.. Jason also lost, but Olav made it:)

Congratulations to all the players that did qualify:)

New personal best!

November 11, 2014

I lost the quarterfinals against Ronny Oldervik, but it is ok. I played really good all weekend, winning 9-5 against Audun Risan Heimsjø, 9-7 against Petter Jespersen, loosing 2-9 against Kristoffer Mindrebøe, winning 9-3 against Jardar Eiken Flage and in the end loosing 3-9 against Ronny Oldervik. The 5th place is a new personal best for me in a elite tournament AND I got price money! I also secured a place in the qualification for elite play next year, advancing 7 places on the ranking to a 22 place. If I play at the same level in the Norwegian Championships 22/23 november I can actually get enough points to skip the qualification and secure my place directly:)

It has been a little difficult because i have missed two tournaments this year. One when I was playing the Amway cup and one while the Eurotour in Portugal was on. This means I have only 4 tournaments out of 6 counting towards the ranking. We have a rolling rotation ranking system  with 7 tournaments total so the new players always struggle the first year.

So, goal for the Norwegian Championships 9-ball: Get enough points to secure my place in the elite:)
