New year, new opportunities!

Sunday I go to Portugal to complete Team Norway in the Europeans. The rest of my team went today as they are playing 14-1 tomorrow and I am not, I start monday with 10-ball. This will be a strange year for me as I am the only female player. More strange, I have played almost every EC since Antwerp (Belgium) in 1995 and I have always been joined by Line Kjørsvik. This is my first year without her and her support and I will miss her dearly.

But, my teammates this year are awesome! They are: Mats Schjetne, Thomas Fjæran, Matias Sætre and Kim Ronny Nygård. Our general secretary Frode Myhre Larsen is the team leader and our president Robert Rysjedal will come for the EPBF General Assembly. Also my good friend Alison Chang will be there so I am well taken care of:)

This year will be special in many ways. I normally play all four disciplines and team and this year I play two and the Eurotour. I start with the 10-ball monday, then I skip the 8-ball to attend the General Assembly, and then I play 9-ball and the Eurotour. The reason for this is that I am running for Treasurer in the EPBF and need to be at the GA. If everything goes as planned I will be Treasurer from saturday 25th march, if not the members found someone else they wanted to take that position. I do hope I get elected, I think European pool politics would be great after being around the Norwegian pool politics for so long. Those of you who know me also know I am very dedicated when I get into politics, sometimes a little too much, but I really like it:) I think that if you have an opinion you have to use it and if you want to be heard you need to take an active part and do something. So, fingers crossed, I will off course let you know how it goes.

And I will try to update from my matches, but this time we do not only have the best livescore and draw/results page, but off course also the best livestream, streaming 24 tables this time, from Kozoom! So if I fail to update you promptly, please go to:

After a tough weekend I was able to go undefeated in the women’s division and become Norwegian Champion 14-1. I am very happy, I have struggled with a bad shoulder and headaches all weekend. My game has been so so, but I ended 33 in the open division after giving it my all so I am happy with my weekend. And my goal towards winning all four championships in the women’s division are getting closer, two down, two to go!

I also have the privilege of being the first Norwegian Champion in the new Oslo Biljardsenter, what an honor! Thank you for working around the clock so we could play only two weeks after you moved everything. The new place will be awesome!!!

Now practice for the European Championships begins, back to my Dynamic table and Tournament balls:)

This weekend Fredrik Førde and I are in Oslo playing the Norwegian Championships in 14-1. We are in the new Oslo Biljardsenter and this venue will be the best non alcoholic venue in Europe when it is finished. We are lucky to have it!

Offcourse I play in both the women’s and open event and I already played and won my two round robin matches today. Next match in women’s is the semifinals on sunday. 

I have my first match in the open division tomorrow at 1130.

This has been a difficult day. In my first match I started really good but stumbled and list 5-7. My second match I really focused and was determined not to fo silly mistakes, but I still lost 5-7 to Ina Kaplan. So thats it, this tournament is over.

Next weekend is the Norwegian Championships 14-1 so there is no time to dwell on this. Practice practice practice 🙂

The first Eurotour of the year starts tomorrow at 0900 for me. The venue is the BHR Treviso hotel and the men will be joining us with the last 16 of their tournament.
